In Matthew 16:18 Jesus said "I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it"

Jesus Bread of Life Ministries was registered in May 2009. The journey of this Church has been full of joys and tears, struggles and triumphs, but through it all, the Lord was always with us right from our humble beginnings to where God has raised us today.

Here's how the journey unfolded…

​

We began our first service with five members at a member's home. This was our first place of worship which was a small but faithful group. Our faith and belief was nurtured here under the able guidance of Pastor Thomas Lopes. We had good times with Jesus being the center of our small beginnings. Philippians 1:6 says " He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ". We later moved to a classroom and the number of members also steadily began to increase. Breaking of bread and fellowship formed an integral part of our service. The Lord rewarded our faithfulness in little things and we began to grow in HIM.

Our next destination was a room in Irla. Our love for our fellow members, unity and oneness with each other was what God brought in our lives. It was truly HIS love that was shared aboard in our hearts that brought us so close to our fellow members. We were called to be Oasis of Love … A love that had no ends…no limits.. We shared together, cared for one another's needs, supported one another through our prayers and love. God's presence was awesome during our times of fellowship. There was a mighty move of His Presence. People fell under His power, People were filled with the Holy Spirit – they spoke in tongues , some experienced the gift of Holy Laughter, some were so touched that they couldn't stop crying in HIS presence.. His presence was so strong & unique that brought a oneness amongst us.

Psalms 133:1 says… " Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garment. It is like the dew of hermon, descending upon the mountain of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing - Life forever more"

 

God blessed this church and from there as we continued to evolve and grow, we began to have our church service in a classroom at Fidaibaug, Andheri West. A zeal for His work began to take shape in everyone's hearts. The youth were nurtured under the guidance of Pastor Thomas Lopes. Here, the Lord revealed many talents of the youngsters through their active participation in various skits and dances that spread His message. We had the dance Ministry called "The Evidence" who reached out to the unsaved.

A leap of faith moved us from this small class room in Fidaibaug to a bigger hall where we meet together right up to this day located in Andheri West - Mayors' Hall. Our fellowship grew in numbers and our worship increased even more. The worship team and Sunday School was formed under the guidance of Pastor Vanessa Lopes. We have teachers who work tirelessly to inculcate the Word of God in the hearts of children at Sunday School. In order to involve the youth of our church in learning more about the Lord's Word, the Young People's Fellowship took its shape with a broader perspective .

 

As this Church grew, we formed more ministries in order to reach out to more people; the prison ministry, slums, visits to old age homes and hospitals, etc. Many broken lives were touched , Healings, deliverance, financial break through, visions, prophecies is what this church has been blessed during this course of time. People have really been blessed in abundance. An intercessory team of Women from the Women's Fellowship gather together every Monday to pray for revival and lost souls. We also have our young talented boys from the worship team called " The overflow" band, who now minister at different musical programmes. As the Lord's presence continues to be with us even today , we look forward to all the beautiful things He has in store for the Ministry..

 

Romans 8:28 says… "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose".
